GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper, or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.1) Draw a vertical rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the upper boundary of the rectangle draw two vertical lines that will divide the rectangle by 3 equal parts. 3) From the middle of the right boundary of the rectangle, draw one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 4) Draw a horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle.

STEP 1. Mark out two ovals. For the dragon's head and body.

STEP 2. Draw outlines for the neck and tail. Erase any interfering lines.

STEP 3. Draw the shape of the muzzle. Connect the neck and tail to create an oblong body. Erase any excess lines.

STEP 4. Outline the shape of the dragon's legs and wings. Connect the outline of the tail. Make the outline of the head more distinct.

STEP 5. Draw the dragon's paws and outline the claws. Form one wing completely. Add eyes, nose and mouth to the head. Add a line for the edge of the tail.

STEP 6. Draw a second wing. Add teeth to the mouth. Paint the dragon's claws. Make the tip of the tail pointy.

STEP 7. Detail the wings, eyes and nose. Draw the back paw.

STEP 8. Along the entire length of the dragon, add scales.
